LANCE
WILLIAMS MANAGING DIRECTOR
CA (SA)
Lance heads up i capital. He provides companies with advice
on issues such as acquisitions, disposals, mergers and takeovers,
and has advised companies on a large number of successful transactions.
He has a detailed knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting
corporate finance transactions, including knowledge of the Companies
Act, associated tax legislation, the Listing rules of the JSE
and the Securities Regulation Code on Takeovers and Mergers.
In addition he has an in depth knowledge of the various types
of valuation techniques utilised internationally.
He
has a B.Comm BAcc (with distinction) from the University of the
Witwatersrand and graduated in the top ten in the board exam (QE).
He is a member of both the JSE Issuer Services Advisory Committee
and the AltX Advisory Committee. He is also a co-founder and past
director of Young Business for South Africa, a nonprofit organisation
that aims to promote networking and understanding between all
types of young economically active South Africans.
Prior to his co-founding i capital,
Lance was an associate within the Corporate Finance division of
UBS. At UBS he was involved in executing large corporate finance
transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and disposals. Lance
has been involved in the execution of a number of high profile
transactions involving large listed companies. Prior to joining
UBS (previously Union Bank of Switzerland Corporate Finance),
Lance was employed in the corporate finance department of the
then Price Waterhouse. During his period of employment at Price
Waterhouse, Lance gained exposure to a range of transactions involving
smaller, primarily unlisted businesses.
DAVID SMOLLAN NON-EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR
BComm PGDA CA (SA) CFA
David
is an Executive Director of Smollan Group, South Africa’s
leading Field Service Group.
David
has a B.Comm PGDA from the University of Cape Town, and
is a chartered accountant (SA). He is also a holder of the
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Prior to
his co-founding i capital, David Smollan was a consultant
in the Corporate Finance division of Grant Thornton Kessel
Feinstein (GTKF). David was instrumental in the creation
of this division, and was involved in advising unlisted
companies, providing transaction support to medium size
listed companies as well as private equity funds.
David
was also involved in the valuation of companies, due diligence
investigations, and private equity capital raising and was
also involved in consulting to "owner managed businesses"
on finance, offshore structuring and basic strategy issues
including succession planning and other "business"
matters.
David is also a co-founder and director of Young Business
for South Africa, a non-profit organisation that aims to promote
networking and understanding between young, economically active
South Africans.
WANDA
SHUENYANE NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Wanda
Shuenyane owns and manages Sceptre Holdings, a 100% black-owned
and managed South African investment company. Wanda is an experienced
business professional who honed his operations management and
strategy consulting skills working for top tier local and international
organisations such as Merrill Lynch, Bain & Co. and ABI.
Sceptre’s
core focus is to target investments that present a meaningful opportunity
to actively leverage its commercial skills and experience. A key
success factor for Sceptre, therefore, is its ability to forge strong
partnerships with the management teams of investee companies to
identify growth generating opportunities.
Currently,
Wanda is CEO of VWV, a leading specialist marketing agency. He
is also a director of Infowave (Pty) Ltd and Bihati Solutions
(Pty) Ltd. Wanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy
(with distinction) degree from Pomona College in Claremont, California,
USA.
SEBENZILE
MATSEBULA NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Sebenzile
Matsebula is actively involved in advancing the cause of the disability
movement. Her vast work experience includes serving as Director
in the Office of the Presidency , as head of the Office on the
status of Disabled Persons, serving as an Executive Director of
the MOTSWAKO_RICOH and consulting on many projects to mainstream
disability. Sebenzile has been active in the disability movement,
both on the African continent and internationally. Sebenzile was
instrumental in the development and negotiation of the United
Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
as part of the South African delegation and currently serves as
a board member of Action on Disability and Development, Centre
for Alternative and Augmentative Communication, Cheshire Homes
South Africa, Disability Workshop Development Enterprise, First
Rand Foundation, and the South African Development Trust for Disabled
People. Sebenzile also established DIVUSENI, a company of women
with disabilities, whose vision is to ensure that disabled women
participate in the creation of wealth and also serves as chairperson
on the board of the Disability Empowerment Concerns.
ALAN
ROMANIS NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN
CA
Alan
is the former vice chairman of the Liberty Life Association of
Africa Limited and is currently a non-executive director of Liberty
Group, a member of the Liberty Group audit and actuarial committee
as well as a non-executive director of Stanlib, and chairs the
Stanlib audit committee.
Alan was appointed as the non-executive chairman of i capital
in 1999.
